Ozar is located in the Pune district of Maharashtra and is known largely for the Vigneshwara Temple dedicated to Lord Ganesh. Ozar belongs to the Junnar Taluka. The Ozarcha Shri Vigneshwara is considered to be one of the Astha Vinayak shrines of Maharashtra, celebrating the eight instances of legends about Ganesha. Astha Vinayak literally means 'Eight Ganesha' and thus this state sports the largest number of temples to the Sankat Mochan or Destroyer of obstacles as Lord Ganesha is often referred to. Most of the eight temples are concentrated in and around Pune at Moregaon, Siddhatek, Pali, Mahad, Theur, Lenyandri, Ranjangaon and Ozar.
